Originally introduced in 1960 by Gibson as a response to the success of 's dreadnoughts, the Hummingbird holds a special place in the world of acoustic guitars, with this Gibson Hummingbird Standard Rosewood representing its lineage beautifully.
The Gibson Hummingbird Standard Rosewood boasts a square-shouldered dreadnought body style with binding around its perimeter. The resonant body consists of a Sitka spruce top paired with a rosewood back and sides and is topped with a pickguard featuring a custom floral design.
Cut to a comfy rounded profile that fits snugly against the palm, the Hummingbird Standard Rosewood sports a mahogany neck, topped with an Indian rosewood fingerboard that contrasts the body's burst color beautifully. The fingerboard features 20 total frets, with mother-of-pearl parallelogram inlays found between them.
This guitar is stocked with L.R. Baggs VTC electronics, allowing for hi-fi recreation of its incredible acoustic tone in any plugged-in environment. A discrete, under-saddle pickup captures the nuanced tonal qualities of this instrument and is controlled via convenient soundhole-mounted volume and tone controls.
Finished in an understated but still elegant Rosewood Burst, gloss finish, this guitar offers a fresh take on classic Gibson acoustic lineage and comes complete with a custom Gibson hard case included.
